Environmentally Friendly Air Conditioners

In the summer months, predominant air conditioner usage can cost consumers higher energy bills and have on out air conditioners

in a hurry. But in modern years, some manufacturers have been taking steps to bring forth more eco favorable air conditioning units

For example, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy has been contriving an air conditioner unit that uses 50-90% less energy than other air conditioners on the market. Although this unit will not be accessible on the market for another few years, it is bound to be democratic with customers that necessitate to salvage some money

Furthermore, some companies are specifically consecrated to bringing forth eco-friendly air conditioners, much as those that run on solar power

There are two types of air conditioners that are currently accessible and are environmentally favorable

The first is the bio-climate air conditioner. It is an air purification system with a filter set in water. The air is always being regenerated, which is a benefit for allergy sufferers who necessitate to take a breath fresh air. The humble evaporation saves 80% on energy usage

Another type of democratic, environmentally favorable air conditioner is the evaporative air conditioner. This unit can run with windows and doors opened and do not use refrigerant chemicals. Its claim to fame is the fact that it uses less energy than a 100 watt lightbulb. However, evaporative air conditioners necessitate more maintenance than a conventional air conditioner unit

Some of these units take further steps to be environmentally favorable. For example, the Frigidiare 10,000 BTU Slider/Casement air conditioner comes with an on and off timer so users can set a time when they do not desire to use their air conditioner. This ensures the unit is not running nonstop, and thus, saves money

Portable air conditioners are the best energy businesslike units to purchase. They do not cause ozone damage and can be easily traveled from room to room rather than staying in one place

If you are interested in an eco-friendly air conditioning unit, you should try to look for units that are re-manufactured or recycled. These often cost less than brand fresh units

You should also look for the Energy Star label. The Energy Star certification is allocated by the Environmental Protection Agency for units that are 10% more businesslike than U.S. government standards. Some energy companies may even give you a rebate on some or all of the cost of an energy efficient air conditioner

The more frequently you use the air conditioner, the more efficient unit you should buy. When selecting a businesslike unit, appear at the energy efficiency rating (EER). However, you should still purchase the air conditioner that is most apropos for the room it is in rather than traveling by just the EER. Regardless of the EER, a little or big unit will cost you more money

Some air conditioners use the R-410A refrigerant. This refrigerant allows for safe disposal of your unit and lowers the amount of toxins within the unit itself

Finally, some other tips to remember for your eco-friendly air conditioner:

-Set the air conditioner to a lower setting rather than the highest one available

-Use the fan setting at night

-Recycle old units rather than getting rid of them
